Shocking Admission Rocks Pennsylvania Community
A stunning revelation has unfolded in Pennsylvania as 20-year-old Anjela Borisova Urumova openly confessed to fabricating a story about being kidnapped and sexually assaulted. Her bogus claims resulted in an innocent man, Daniel Person, being incarcerated for over a month. In a case that raises significant concerns regarding the truth and justice, Urumova’s motives appear to be rooted in her perception of the man as “creepy.”
The Creation of a False Narrative
On April 16, Urumova reported to the authorities that a 41-year-old man had attacked her from behind outside a Redner’s supermarket. In her fabricated story, she detailed how her alleged assailant had forcefully pulled down her pants and struck her, leaving bruises on her face. With a cut lip at the time, Urumova pointed at Daniel Person as the supposed attacker.
However, Urumova’s narrative began to unravel when she admitted to the police that her lip injury was actually inflicted by an object thrown by her grandmother, who is suffering from dementia. This confession shed light on the disturbing reality of her accusations.
Targeting Based on Perception
During investigations, it was revealed that Urumova had specifically chosen Person as her target after seeing him and his distinct blue Ford F-150 truck in the vicinity. Her characterization of him as “creepy” played a pivotal role in her decision to falsely accuse him, highlighting a troubling aspect of how biases can lead to dire consequences.
Consequences of the Lies
The gravity of Urumova’s actions triggered a swift investigation, which included scrutiny of surveillance footage from several nearby retailers and a forensic review of her cellphone data. This evidence surfaced numerous inconsistencies with her account of the alleged attack in the parking lot. As a result of the false allegations, Person faced multiple felony charges and spent 31 days behind bars before the truth came to light.
Once Urumova’s deceit was uncovered, the charges against Person were dismissed. The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office took serious notice of the situation, resulting in Urumova facing severe legal ramifications for her actions.
Facing Legal Repercussions
Urumova was formally charged and recently pleaded guilty to several counts, including false alarms to public safety and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence. Furthermore, she faces an uncertain future, with the possibility of receiving a sentence of up to 17 years in prison come March 21.
