Domestic Violence Survivor Becomes a NASA Astronaut

Jonny Kim’s life story is truly inspirational, perhaps even enough to motivate you to pursue your own seemingly impossible goals. At just 40 years old, he has accomplished more than most people could dream of in a lifetime.
He is a highly decorated Navy SEAL veteran, having participated in over 100 combat missions. After his time in the Navy, he pursued a career in medicine and became a Harvard-trained emergency physician.
His next adventure? He’s preparing to travel to the International Space Station as a NASA astronaut in 2025. Kim’s path to success started in a humble home and included challenges while growing up.
He faced adversity in his youth, growing up in an immigrant household and experiencing domestic violence. But despite these significant obstacles, he remained determined to achieve his ambitions.
